Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated June 2026

Short version: you can cancel your Verdict subscription anytime, and you won’t be charged again. We don’t refund the period you’ve already paid for. Everything below explains that more carefully.

The Free Tier

Verdict’s Free tier — unlimited pricing search, Compare, Flip Calculator, plus a daily quota of AI tools (AI Snap, AI grades, Lot Scout) — is free forever. No card on file, no recurring charges, nothing to cancel. This policy only applies to paid Pro and Founders subscriptions.

Cancellation

You can cancel a Pro subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep full Pro access until then. After that, your account reverts to the Free tier automatically — no data is deleted, you just lose Pro-only features (cloud Collection, cloud Watchlist, unlimited AI tools, and watchlist email alerts).

Refunds

We do not issue refunds on already-billed periods. Cancellation prevents future charges; it doesn’t reverse the one that just ran. This is the standard pattern for SaaS subscriptions at this price tier and lets us keep the monthly cost low.

That means specifically:

  • No partial / pro-rated refunds for canceling mid-period.
  • No refunds for unused features (e.g., you subscribed but didn’t use AI Snap).
  • No refunds for not realizing you were still subscribed — we’ll send a receipt every time we charge you. If you don’t want to be charged again, cancel before the next billing date.

Exceptions

We’ll issue a refund (or a credit, your choice) when:

  • Verdict is materially unavailable for more than 48 consecutive hours due to issues on our end (third-party outages at our providers — Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, eBay, CardSight, GemRate, TCGplayer, Anthropic, Apify, SerpAPI, Resend, Sentry — don’t count; we surface those when we can but don’t control them).
  • A duplicate charge ran due to our error.
  • We change pricing or materially reduce Pro features without notice. (We commit to giving at least 30 days’ notice of any pricing change.)

Reach out via the channel below if you think one of these applies. We review every request individually — even if you don’t fit the cases above, send a note and we’ll take a look.

How to Cancel

Sign in to Verdict and open Account → Manage Subscription. That links to the Stripe Customer Portal where you can:

  • Cancel your subscription
  • Update your payment method
  • View and download past invoices
  • Change your billing email

Cancellation through the portal is instant and self-serve. You don’t need to email anyone or wait for us to process it.

If you can’t access the portal for any reason, email support@verdict.cards with the email address on your account and we’ll cancel it manually within one business day.

Disputed Charges & Chargebacks

Please email us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks cost us money on top of the disputed charge and rarely resolve anything we couldn’t have handled directly. We won’t fight a legitimate chargeback, but we will dispute one where we can demonstrate the subscription was used in the period being charged back.

Free Trials & Promotional Offers

Any free trial period auto-converts to a paid subscription when it ends — we’ll send a reminder email 48 hours before the first charge. Cancel before the trial ends and you won’t be charged at all. Promotional pricing (introductory discounts, founder rates, annual-billing discounts) is honored for the term offered; renewal pricing at standard rates is disclosed at signup.

Changes to This Policy

If we materially change this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top, surface a notice in the app, and email active subscribers. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the new policy.
